Congressional Cemetery
Located on the bank of the Anacostia River, Congressional Cemetery is the final resting place of one Vice-President, one Supreme Court Justice, six Cabinet Members, 19 Senators and 71 Representatives - including former Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill. Another burial of note is J. Edgar Hoover - when he was first interred an FBI agent was posted as security to prevent desecration of the grave. Another interesting feature is the 165 cenotaphs honoring Senators and Representatives that died while in office, though are interred elsewhere.
