the Museum of Arctic and Antactica
This is worth a recommendation: originally built as an orthodox church, the building has been changed to a museum during the sovjet era. Not that you shouldn't visit the herimitage, but this museum offers a detailed view on the history of russian polar research (expeditions, instruments used in these expeditions, paintings, ship-models, airplanes, important figures etcetc.).
