Maybe we're getting in-product marketing modules to make sure we know of certain core (dis)functionality? Wouldn't that be totally cool to have? ;)

great news! 23 could use some improvements, surely.
on the other hand there many things about 23 that i really, really like. I hope such an overhaul is in line with the current site design philosophy, which is really good.

Basic video support? One can hope. :)

video would be good.
i think the main improvements i'd like are the following, listed by personal importance:
'must' have: flickr migration, all photos from an account on a map, some manner of mobile site
would like to have: 'smart tags', video support, all photos from entire site on map
might be nice: groups system improvements

I would be happy with video support and a mobile site.
Ok, and a mid-level of privacy.

Re-reading the tweet... since it refers to "an overhaul of our sites", it might be just restructuring and global technical improvements, not new features specifically in this site.

Considering they have a video service that is separate... i'm not sure we'd see video here soon... unless said overhaul includes the merger of their services into one or the addition of a single-login system?

Just to clarify as I see a lot of very good ideas thrown around on what was meant by "overhaul":
I'm a new hire on the team, and one of my first tasks is to strengthen our profile a bit, so we're currently looking into how we can upgrade our own blog with more information on what the team members are sharing daily. At some point we'll start looking into what can be improved on the photo sharing service as well, but currently we're (or rather, I'm) focusing on our blog.
Mark.

Haha, clearly flickr staff secrecy has conditioned us for too long into wild speculation after a few words are uttered!

I'd love video too, a mobile site, just like Lori, and a way of posting to my wordpress.com blog without having to copy and paste code into wordpress.

@claudecf
Have you tried just pointing the blogs configuration options page at your wordpress instance? If it supports the right post mechanisms the feature may already exist.

PS, A privacy issue... I can actually load that page (though not add a new blog). Not sure any of our options pages should be visible to others.

re: wordpress.com problem
I buggedit and then found the solution. Looks like the auto-discovery assumes an endpoint in a secure server https:// rather than http:// Changing that fixed it, and my wordpress.com blog works fine!

Ooo, while we're wishing for features, is an iPhone uploader on the cards any time soon? I was staring in perplexity at my phone on the way in this morning, trying to work out how to upload a bunch of wedding pics without emailing each one individually.

Maybe striatic knows? does pixelpipe let you upload multiple photos at once to send to 23?

Also, current widget cannot be posted on a wordpressdotcom blog as they won't accept scripts, php and other iframes or embeds. Very picky they are!
