23 plus - "Authorize failed"

i just wanted to upgrade to 23 plus, so i typed in the card number, the verification number and the date of expiration (07/2010), but it didn't work. i tried several times, but there's always the error "authorize failed".
i think the card number and the verification number are alright, so maybe it's the date of expiration? but i don't see what's wrong with it.
where's the mistake?
edit:
my mother says it is possible that we have to go to the bank first to ask whether we could enable the verification. is that the point?

Hey achterbahnfahrt -- I'm wondering if the solution is so simple as to just write "07/10" rather than "07/2010"?

um well, the date of expiration is ... - you can choose it. you know? you can't really TYPE it but choose it. so there's nothing wrong with the way it is "typed" but maybe WHAT is typed?
mmh, i think the problem is because of the card. my mother is going to ask the bank for more information (if we did something wrong or if we have to enable something), maybe we will get the solution this way. hopefully. ;D

Hopefully, check with the bank and let us know if the problem is on our end. I've sent you a coupon for a month of 23 Plus -- just to make sure you can make it through the summer with 23 ;-)

okay, it's me again. my mother used her visa card for something different ... and it worked. so now i wanted to try it again here, but i still have 23 plus although it's already august - therefore i can't try it again because the "get 23 plus"-button isn't there.
