This is definately a tree that was worth it's price and starts already to save money by replacing grocerybought fruits and condiments. I do not make jam, only a bit of fruit butter with no sugar added and frozen Fruitmeats sans Stones for Wildgulasch, and we eat a lot of it raw in season otherwise. It is sweet for a sour one. It was actually a mix up, I meant to buy a dark Knorpelkirsche or Herzkirsche (Prunus avium) as I prefer food with fewer acids, but it's fruit really tastes okay and not very sour. The Weichsel lives now 9 years in our garden and every year its more cherries it produces.
