Saint Mary of the Bildbach / Maria Bildbach
Today it looks just like a fairly unspectacular religious decoration from 1915 in in a considerably sunken and not level frontyard wall. But this got far more history: Capucin monks built their new monastry in 1655 there, when Ravensburg did throw them out, and there was a popular pilgrimage to their chapel with a special madonna before soon. But until 1820 this was saecularized and all torn down but a piece of wall with a further sculpture of Saint Mary in it. At some point almost 100 years later it finally toppled and the owner replaced the wall above the break with some bricks and a new place to put a sculpture in after the fashion of their time. / Was heute nur wie eine relativ einfache religioese Deco von 1915 in einer recht eingesukenen und krummen Gartenmauer aussieht, hat viel mehr Geschichte. Als Ravensburg die Kapuziner verjagte bauten sie hier ihr neues Kloster. Es gab bald eine Wallfahrt zur Madonna vom Bildbach. Bis 1820 wurde das Kloster aufgeloest und abgerissen, nir en Mauereckchen mit einer Madonna in einer Nische liess man stehen. Irgendwann nach fast hundert Jahren fiel diese Mauer - nun Teil eines Vorgartenzauns - einfach um, und der Besitzer stockte den Rest im Boden mit roten Klinkern auf und machte auch wieder eine Nische mit Marienbild dazu, aber eine nach dem Geschmack der Zeit. |
