something about the wave crashing near those rock formations make me think about the massive power that formed those rocks - is it volcanic? wonderful!

A nice salty rock garden. Samphire is a fun vegetable, very unique...

This is the common rock samphire, Sonja. Marsh samphire is rarer and much sought after by fish restaurants. Nevertheless I like this with its iodine flavour!
Many thanks,
Andy.

I have eaten real samphire only once in my life, in France. In Germany nearly all Wadden Sea is national park and samphire can not be harvested comercially. No idea which samphire that was, I even needed some research what that salty greens had been at all as the server's hand and feet explainations did not lead to much.... :o)

The rare and expensive restaurant samphire is the 'marsh' variety. I've never eaten it! I have no idea if the taste is similar to this variety here ('rock') that I know well.

Great colours and viewpoint. Andy when I see your photos from yesteryear I am always tempted to add more of mine too. Its a shame that we have many fine views that are usually never aired. maybe I shall put some more of my x-pano ones on here. Shame to let a full site go to waste too. As you know, my two main sites are now Flickr and Ipernity but there is a place for these others too. -Never heard of Rock Samphire before so I live and learn as I must have seen much of this around our rocky coast.
Cheers, Herb

Thank you, Herb.
I would prefer to add recently taken shots but until recently ill-health has prevented me from getting out and about all that much. So for the best part of a year I was posting from my back-catalogue, as it were! I'm much better now and so hope to start taking shots from rocky places again soon!
Best wishes,
Andy
