✎ Formerly the Church Missions House, the FPWA building was designed for the Episcopal Church by architects Robert W. Gibson & Edward J. N. Stent and built between 1892 & 1894. The building was designated a New York City landmark in 1979 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
✎ As for the sculptures above the main entrance .... One represents St. Augustine preaching to a group of 6th century Britons and the other shows the first bishop of the American Church, Samuel Seabury, preaching to Native Americans. The work was executed from designs by Edward N. J. Stent, one of the architects of the building (I couldn't find any information on who actually did the carving).
