You know, I'm not a big fan of this type of girls (read: eat something, please!!!) but it was very surprising for myself when I realized I have enjoyed Breakfast at Tiffany's. I've also read she had a very hard infancy under the WW II and that she died not so many years ago, fighting cancer. So I guess she wasn't fragile in her inside.

But you're right she had a sad childhood and adolescence and died because of a painful illness... all trough her life supported social organisms like unicef and also founded a children's care foundation few years before dying...
I think she was quite a woman... more much than a pretty face.
...m'agrada molt!!
i feel a bit like you about Audrey HGpburn, sometimes i even feel she's overrated! she was pretty and an icon, but i never thought she was a good actress, just a lucky pretty too skinny girl... but funny & what i love about this photo is that the other women from the back does look like another skinny Hepburn woman, but this one i do admire a lot and it think is one of the best actresses in Hollywood and i am talking about Katherine Hepburn, not Audrey but Katherine with her little hair bun tied on the back, she was talented and hilarious!
ps: AND I LOVE THE OBSERVATION. I haven't thought about this photo this way!
i am a big fan of her B&W era, the screwball comedies!!! specially Bringing Up Baby and The Philadelphia Story with Cary Grant and James Stewart... but probably my favorite movie of hers is Desk Set with Spencer Tracey, those 2 were one of those amazing Hollywood couples, all their films together are great :) how nice that you like old films too!
