Hi there, long time no see!
Not long until Saint Martin's Day.
(I hope the bird does not get the hint).... ;o)

Yes, it's been a while since my last posting, for sure. I just haven't taken many photos over the past year.

We just recently celebrated Thanksgiving, but the geese and chickens we have don't have anything to worry about. My wife and I just aren't the butchering type. We tried it a year ago, but it was a very tough thing to do for us. So, we've decided to enjoy our birds in other ways.

They definitely play their roles on the farm besides being food.... If given free reign among the veggies 'n' things they will keep the pests out (though chickens are more efficient at it). If they get particularly attached to humans, their antics can be quite entertaining, too =)

Funny shot... One thinks the beak is its best feature, the other is showing off the elegant neck arch and the last just doesn't care ;)

They are really great to have on the farm. They're like little children, always interested in what's going on and want to inspect everything.

They're also great protectors. We're notified if anyone comes into the yard and any unusual animals are snooping around. We had a utility worker show up one day to read our power meter. Well, I didn't get out to see him in time and the geese were on their way to escort him back to his vehicle. He wasn't sure how to proceed if I didn't show up. LOL!

In this photo, the two in the foreground are males and the one in background is a female.

Yeah, that too.... They can be very fierce protectors of their territory and everyone they perceive to be a member of their flock.

The poor meter reader.... so you got some propper offspring from the famous winged Capitol watchdogs there, it seems.

Oh yes, and they love their jobs, too! :)
