I was in a hurry with my commenting and really should have given you the full naming detail.... So, more specifically, they're Snowdrop Anemones ↔ Anemone Sylvestris. These are non-invasive, unlike their Japanese Anemone cousins --- most of which are very invasive.

Interesting ... I always had Japanese anemones in my gardens. They did very well but never became invasive! Perhaps London Clay suits them and restricts them at the same time!
