No damage. Strangely enough, all we got was a little bit of rain, as the formation went by, overhead. It certainly looked like a real whopper of storm was brewing. But, thank the Lord, it just looked menacing.

Ya know.... If you factor out the bottom ¼ of the photo, you'd think it was a shot of ocean waves.... Nature is awesome, ain't it?!? Great catch! Certainly does look ominous!

You got that right, Fizgig! Yes, when I first saw this enormous cloud bank, it looked exactly like something someone would normally be surfing on.

It's too bad that this photo isn't in 3D, because the cloud "wave" looked to be at least 50 to 100 feet high.

Thank you, BJW. It's been a pretty busy summer for us. Lots of visits to the hospital (for my wife). But, the difficult parts are over and we're all recovering nicely. Haven't had much time to take many photos. I've missed the "23 gang" here, too. And now harvest season is starting. Going to be some even longer days for a little while, now.

But, hey, winter's coming and I can take some time off then. ;o)

i almost didn't 'favorite' this even though i love it because it scares me! outrageous cloud formation and beautifully photographed to show off all its nuances.

I know what you mean, raingirl. When I first saw this cloud formation, I was a little unsettled, too. But, I just had to go grab the camera and try to capture the amazing sight. Thankfully, it didn't turn into a nasty storm or anything; just a bit of rain.
