And I'm supposed to believe this is all just from a bit of moisture in jet fuel.

Dunno what to tell you about the science.... Here in NYC, we see these in the wake of big airplanes all the time.... They vanish in a few minutes... I mean, if these things are showing up in an area where no airplane ever flies over, that's an entirely diff't story.... It's kinda like the conspiracy theorists who will argue 'til the cows come home that the residue left behind from a plane that creates a sonic boom is anything but what the science says it is....
This one is a bit odd, I will grant you 'cause, even over NYC that sees a plane fly over every minute or so, the contrails don't usually last long enough to crisscross like this....
Anyway, nice catch =)
The sky way perfectly clear blue when I started splitting wood. But, then these bands fanned out to cover it in these milky white bands that you see here. Not just the relatively thin criss-crosses, but I mean, the wide bands you see close to the horizon and the one going across the middle of the frame. There was not one naturally occurring cloud to be found all day today.
This went on all afternoon and as the sun when down. The jet-stream would slowly blow these bands (which all stayed in formation, they just got wider) southward as the afternoon went on.
This can actually be seen quite frequently out here now.
What I find intriguing with the science is the fact that it can't seem to explain why it doesn't hold true for every airplane.... OK, sure, the fuel used by smaller planes, blah, blah... fine... But it's really obvious here with so many big international flight capable airplanes coming in to our huge airports, that very few of them leave contrails.... Riddle me that.... I mean, if every airplane did that, we'd never have clear skies.... And yet.... We used to hang out at a parking area across the bay from JFK International and watch the airplanes take off and land.... I tell ya, maybe one out of every 30 big planes left a contrail....
The moisture from the jet fuel thing just isn't true, that much I know.... With the humidity levels so low where you are most of the time, water vapor would quickly vanish, not hang in the air.... It's exhaust, pollution.... They don't want to admit it, but that's what it is.... NASA and the like will argue it isn't a problem as long as you let them, but, if we're all supposed to go get rid of our fossil fuel using stuff, then they should be doing more to curb their unnecessary polluting activities, too, no? But, oh no, that's just water vapor... I suppose that's what all that smokey looking crap is when they launch all these unnecessary and pointless space exploration things, too.... lol.... Humanity, gotta luv it... ;)
There's got to be an explanation for it that goes beyond the junk science of water vapor from the jet fuel.... Interesting, I find, that military jets leave contrails 99% of the time.... The percentage drops off precipitously for their cargo carrying monstrosities, though.... I have a theory that it's the blend/purity of the jet fuel a particular big plane uses in conjunction with its air speed and atmospheric conditions; leaning heavily toward the jet fuel.... I think some airlines, as a means to save money (cuz the exorbitant prices they now charge just can't seem to keep them afloat), use the lowest quality, cheapest jet fuel they can get their paws on or legally get away with. I did notice when I was in China, where their environmental protections are laughable at best, almost every med.-big airplane that flew overhead left contrails.... It caught my attention only because I'm not used to seeing that with such regularity and it struck me as odd.... So, in paying more attention, with the help of a couple of colleagues, I noted that the airplanes that didn't leave contrails were by a huge margin non-Chinese airlines.... And then we noticed, with some research, that the Chinese airlines owned planes leaving contrails were ones that had routes restricted to certain countries.... Look a little deeper.... Those countries had at least as poor an environmental protection record.... It was fascinating, really.... This is where my theory about jet fuel comes in... Now, the US and CAN have some of the strictest environmental laws in the world --- there are airlines from MANY countries that have lost the right to operate in countries with such strict environmental protection laws... If they fly "dirty" or have a poor safety record or can't maintain a relatively modern fleet (planes no older than 10yrs.), their permits to operate are revoked... Thought you might find some of that interesting ;) If not, sorry to bore ya =P
As for lines to toe.... "They" can't be bothered... "They" hire those outside their circle to toe lines... "They" usually don't even know what the lines look like... LOL .... Take tRump ;) for example: couldn't find his arse with both hands... They were replacing the lettering on one of his high end hotels and worked from right to left.... So, they were down to the last letter.... The sign was reading "Rump Tower" ... LOL .... I saw it and thought, "well, that about says it all.... no truer words" .... Also thinking that those workers knew exactly what they were doing in starting from the right ;)
And, yeah, it's all just business to "them".
