This weekend has been one of intense work in the revision of Carpa 94.
In the end, I decided to change the cover and redesign the whole set, I was never completely satisfied with it.
Today I upload the new and definitive cover and the first page of its introduction.
-Didn't you say that at most the phone, in case there was an emergency?.
-I don't know, a mouse must be responsible for putting the laptop in my suitcase.
-Yes, a fat, black and bad mouse.
-And don't forget that she likes to wear wool sweaters and turtlenecks.
It is true that I promised Consuelo to forget about the editorial work during our vacations, a prelude to our wedding and that it cost my love a lot to organize. But, despite Consuelo's growls, I know I did the right thing. Before leaving for these vacations and after Dorita and Paquita's trips to Soto's house, our fifth editor and Ante's illustrator began preparations for the revision of Carpa 14. It just had to be preliminary work, gathering the material original and seek the author's opinion on this review and if approved by our mandate, be published after the appearance of Carpa 1588.
I took the authorization of the mandate for granted and on the pool deckchair, trying to catch a Tabernacle-type tan, I enjoyed the short summer, but I couldn't stop thinking about all the pending things that awaited us on our return.
After the work carried out by Paquita in the last issues of Carpa dedicated to presenting Amparo's annotated folder, she began to give greater responsibilities to the fifth working with Soto in the various projects that we have been commenting on. With the arrival of autumn, my idea was to assign Paquita the review of the photographic projects that were yet to appear and thus prepare her for work on the larger volumes that she had had in mind for months.
Consuelo is already right when she tells me that a lot of doctorate and management of the editorial level, but in the intros and prologues I go a thousand times in circles before getting into the matter, let's remedy:
From the beginning of her romance with Paquita, Dorita spent more time in our newsroom than in Ante's elegant offices and, almost from the beginning, she got involved in all our work and showed her great talent with the illustrations that all of our readers know. During the long plane trip, I was thinking about how we could incorporate the illustrator almost permanently into our newsroom, since her official collaboration would end when the last Carpa de Amparo closed and, according to the guidelines of the editorial authority, it was impossible to recruit her because It had been assigned to the Ante team and it was this team who decided on the staff for temporary collaborations with the different newsrooms.
