Have you visit Peugeot Glenmarie, Shah Alam showroom? They have brochure for it, the estimated price is RM148K...

Heard they will bring in sometime around the half of the year, hopefullly.
6-speed Manual... the specs are so good.
Like the R4 Read Unit and the Centre Console LCD.
Love the seats, Leather Steering (better and classier than mine), JBL Hi-Fi....
Wonder if they have upgrades for the 206 =P

Thanks for the info Andy.
I'm crazy looking at this lion..., heard it is going to be launched in Europe sometime in April this year. Normally Malaysia takes another 2~3 months later for the launch, probably at the end of Q2 or early Q3 2008.
BTW where about is Peugeot Glenmarie? Could u pls tell me the address or the road name....is it along Jalan Pengaturcara? or Jalan Pelukis? [Peugeot Glenmerie not yet available in Malsing GPS map as one of the POI's] Other marques such as Audi Glenmarie, Saab Glenmarie and Porsche Glenmarie are shown on the GPS...and the navigation tells it takes 25minutes drive from where I'm now....

uncledee206,

No problem. Talk about crazy, it's even more crazier if you've seen the car in person, worst sit in the car before. Woah... so hard to describe. Sincerely, when I first saw the car in papers/magazine/etc, I thought "it was OK".
When I ACTUALLY see it in person at the showroom, OMG, the body design, the cruve, it's just sooo different.
When sit inside, it was way a lot of OMG. The leather interrior, seats, RD4 Head Unit, Leather Steering, Meter, and suddenly "Colour LCD Console"!, and finally, those extra features here and there which gives more "Ooooo Ahhhhh".

Anyway that's just the 308 Premium Edition, this 308GT is going to kill even more... and more surprise when I heard about the price!

You can experience the 308 here:
http://www.308.co.nz
Click on COME ON BOARD > CAPACITY; watch the video and ENJOY!
Truly amazing!
"People say, VW has the People's car, well, now I see this suits to be one too. Not only that, the car is >90% recyclable, so it can also be the World's Car."
Of course the features might be nothing compared to BMW, Merz, etc. But those are a totally different class and price range.

As for the Peugeot Glenmarie, here's the full address:
NASIM SDN BHD (4401264-U)
LOT 2B, JALAN PENGATURCARA U1/51,
SEKSYEN U1 40150, SHAH ALAM,
SELANGOR DARUL EHSAN.
TEL: 603 55690588
(It's just opposite PIRELLI)

Too bad the 308 is no longer in the showroom, it's being used for training after the launching of the 3S Centre. I think you can still see the 207cc there.

You can get the brochures for the 308 Premium version, 207cc, and also the 308GT. (With full specs and estimated price)
I did speak with someone there, they say they'll try to bring in around May-July hopefully. It'll be limited units first to see how's the respond.
Also, they have videos on the 308 (the crash test video looks very good and impressive), and also the 308 RCZ!!! Heard that's it's no longer a concept car, but a real production =O!!!

Btw, you can also see the 2008 Naza Bestari 206. It comes with complete Sportivo Bodykit (include Spoiler), and the one in the Showroom looks so much like the 206 GTi180 (or 206 RC).

Andy,
I hope and pray the otr price for this 175hp 3-door GT will not exceed 150k...i.e not more than the previous price of 206CC [RM appreciates against Euro lately]
I think this car is going to deliver. My spouse has no objection... but personally she prefers the 5-door 150hp version...[probably the price is about the same as New 3-door Civic 1.8]
any hint?

uncledee206,

Yup, hopefully so. But I heard the estimated RM148K does not include road tax and insurance. Hopefully by when they launch, they can make it below RM150K OTR.

This car is good, but the current problem is with the after-sales support (especially in KL/Selangor area) as seen in AW Forums. Many complains and dissastisfaction from current Pug owners. I hope all owners can try and help improve the after-sales support for Peugeot.

The 308 Premium edition (CBU) 150HP version will be priced estimated RM138K (according to brochure). The power available is more than the Civic 2.0L, and I'm pretty sure the Fuel Consumption is better too.
The specs will beat the Civic hands down, maybe even the Camry, except the body and engine size.
Moreover, this is a NON-ASEAN imports so it's a no match.
Is the Civic CBU? If yes, from where?

THe 308 low end version, which will be CKD, the estimated price will be around RM90K++ as told by the marketing manager there.

Thanks for the info Andy,
Most likely I opt for the 308 premium 1.6 THP 150ch BVM5 edition to make my spouse happier....
To be honest, 120hp engine with VM5 manual tx is the "better value-for-money" if NAZA decides to assemble it locally. [could be another option too]
Nevertheless, CKD units may come with 1.6l VTi 120BVA4 [auto] and 1.4l VTi 95ch BUM5 engine to bring the price down...[the later still capable to hit 182km/hr though]

any further info about this?
Andy214 March 05, 2008, 02:57 AM
uncledee206,

You're welcome.
Sadly, no info on the CKD model. Not sure what specs, hopefully not a 1.4L engine as even the 206 having 1.4L is pulling away many customers.

Hopefully they would have a choice of either Manual or Automatic, as many Pug members are not happy with the AL4, and also some more spirited drivers prefers manual transmission.

The AL4 used is a new version, looks more compact and more 'cool' too. It's also said to have much better performance, smoother and has overcome many of the said problems.

Anyway, have you notice the 'many' complaints on after-sales services by Naza? Hopefully they can improve on it soon as this will surely affect their sales on Peugeot no matter how good the 308 is. Even when someone ask me, I have to warn them on the after-sales service. Sad thing...

I'm surprise to know the Civic was CKD... Now, this is more ridiculously expensive.

Seen in the UK recently, the NEW 3-door Civic 1.8 slightly more expensive than 5-door 308 1.6l THP [150 bhp]... [both quoted between 16k~18k quids - depends on customers choice of accessories] - however 3-door 308 GT THP, which is the exact match against the Civic is expected to cost a 'little bit' more.
Andy214 March 08, 2008, 06:28 AM
uncledee206,

Based on specs and features, I don't think the UK Civic matches up to the 308.

As for our local Civic, it's a different version from the UK Civic. I prefer the UK Civic more, not to mention better specs and features.
Moreover, our local Civic is actually CKD...

If to compare against the 308GT, it's only fair to compete using the Civic Type R (UK). Even the 207GTi is competing against it.
But the 207GTi according to Magazine has not been able to live up to it's predecessor... it falls pretty far behind. The Honda Civic Type R (UK) is TOP even beats the VW Golf GTi. Well, that's from the magazine review last year.
