thank you all for your kind comments! :)

these are through-the-window shots, there were about 10 of those little fellows directly in front and above my window for about three minutes and, well, i really wouldn´t call it "singing" what they did, it sounded more like a heavy debate about the next direction to go... ;D

yes richy, i´m pretty sure these are jay birds and i´ve never seen so many of them all at once before. in fact, i wasn´t sure to trust my eyes (and ears..). :D

"wildlife observation ward" - nur weil Du mal 10 JayBirds (wie witzig ist das denn eigentlich?) und ein Eichhorn fotografiert hast?!

How beautiful!!!!!!!!!! Never seen these birds before, and they are sooo pretty!!! Are they autochthonous? :)
ugly plus July 11, 2010, 06:03 PM
mhh i´m not sure i understand what u mean with autochthonous. but maybe i can answer your question in telling that they normally don´t live in coveys (crowds) and that they are very very shy. i think at the time of the photo they were on their way back from their winters´ quarters somewhere south of here and took a little rest in front of my window.. :)

:) Sorry, I meant ...are they a German species? :)

Thanks for the explanation ((: ...I bet it was great to have them around!! :D
