As close to a wonder as it could be..
These spoonhounds are the most shy residents at our zoo. The zoo´s caretaker of those beauties told us they really would rather choose to starve than to take just a little higher than minimum risk to leave their home to get their food. Think about that! They are afraid of almost everything, sparrows flying off included as we learned today. They cannot see well, they orient themselves almost entirely by hearing. We know other frequent visitors to the zoo (2 to 4 times a week) who *never* saw them since many years. I really hope they get their chance like we got ours today! Unbelievable.. |
