Yeah, me too...
The great advantage is that we actually wrote the code ourselves this time around. Which is hugely helpful when you need to fix a bug.

looks good and reasoned

On vertical pictures words box covers up the pic. I like the new uploader but maybe it's better choosing first pics to upload and then tags and albums. Maybe it's only my special need, anyway good job.

The rumors say that the new uploader will be much more stable ;-).

(and fast!)

pregnantboy, you're right that switch steps 1 and 2 would make more sense. Doing so has caused us a lot of problems in the old uploader though, so it's a tehcnical compromise.

Also, it's nice that you've actually tested the real thing ;-) We'll fix the problem with verticals.

It's a pleasure for me to test new stuffs.

Feel free to have a look at the preview version here. Please report back if you run into trouble.

It crashed when I tried to upload a ton of pics 15-20 minutes ago. Did it when I was hooked up with a LAN cable, so it wasn't the wonky wireless this time :)

Can you upload with simpler uploader? Does crash mean "crashed your browser" or "spit out errors"?
PimpDaddy December 03, 2007, 06:53 PM
This time, crashed means that the window with the upload stalled, while all other windows in Camino were running fine.

BTW, the 23 update means that my theme is messed up now. Can you see if it's a quick fix?

Yesterday I uploaded a photo and noticed the new uploader. It worked flawlessly, has a much nicer interface, and I felt it somewhat snappier than the old one;) Hopefully I'll try it with a more serious upload-job soon to see "if it scales" nicely;)

1sTaRtUrLhttp://www.23hq.com/forums/message-view?message%5fid=2704168 should fix the theme thing. Can you upload with the simpler uploader (that is the non-flash one)?
PimpDaddy December 03, 2007, 06:59 PM
Thanks for the link to theme-repair ;-).

I'll give the simple one a go right now :)

istoyanov December 03, 2007, 07:00 PM
I also noticed the custom theme mess-up and have reverted to the default style temporarily, until the transition passes and I find myself not in that lazy mood again;) Cheers!

Simple uploader works fine :-).

And a little n00bie help: I can't seem to find the page, where I can edit the theme, anymore....(?)

but the file and album selection should really be switched. firts the files, thenn the album and tags.
PimpDaddy December 03, 2007, 07:15 PM
Thanks for the newbie help :-D

Does it matter where I add the new line?

PimpDaddy December 03, 2007, 07:22 PM
Hoho, it works :-). Thanks mate.
Steffen Fagerström Christensen Team 23 December 03, 2007, 07:26 PM
@nasebaer: I totally agree with you; it would make much more sense for the user to select files first and then add tags and albums. But when we tried to do it before it caused us so much trouble. So the current order is a compromise that I think is working quite. well.

@pimpdaddy: I can reproduce your problem with stalling upload if I switch to an extremely bad internet connection (and I do have one of those on hand). It's just that in that case the problem is the connection rather than the code, which makes it very hard to fix by writing a few lines of code.

Just noticed a small annoyance: I am used to right-click & "Open Link in New Tab", but now the right click leads me directly to the photo... Any known workaround?
istoyanov December 03, 2007, 07:28 PM
And: sometimes the "Edit" possibility disappears at random.
PimpDaddy December 03, 2007, 07:29 PM
@ Steffen: Okay, I guess I'm staying with the very first uploader then :-). Parknet is my ISP. The problem is probably that the whole building share the same line(?).
PimpDaddy December 05, 2007, 07:44 PM
Very strange. Just tried again after I restarted my router, as I thought the router might be the problem.

The uploader I tested a month ago worked fine. How come this not work? I'm just curious... :-). Mostly because it worked back then but not now(assuming it's more or less the same).
