Ivan Olassiuk is not necessarily only a painter – he works on paintings by anonymus (or not anonymus, I don't really know ...) artists. A special kind of "artistic archeology" ...

hi stefan, i have been meaning to ask you about this artist, so what is it that he does? restores art? not sure what you mean with artistic archeology, btw very neat the little photo-studio you did of his studio

hi bere!
interesting question. no, ivan is not an restaurator. in his own words he is 'depicting the motions behind an artwork'. maybe the result should not be called 'painting' any more, though it's causally connected with it.

it sounds very interesting what he does... and yes i do think is painting after all since i guess the source of inspiration of an artist is never to be questioned... some use landscapes or models, he, other paintings, eh? i think that's rather interesting, i am glad i asked :)
