..but do you know if they were cutted just for making this sculpture??
..just guessing, but the artist is from Slovakia so these could easily be the trees from Tatra National Park where the windstorm destroyed large area of (mostly monocultural ;-) forests in 2004. Some pictures here: http://www.21stoleti.cz/view.php?cisloclanku=2004112401
now here in Spain we have some fires at the woods.. the worst of all is that they are provoqued ):
..I believe you're right I'm sure he found those trees on the ground when they were already dead...
To make an sculpture of them it's a nice way of remmembering :))
