The Bulgarian folk music is unique in Europe for its "asymmetrical" rhythms ( defined by the famous Hungarian composer and ethnomusicologist Bela Bartok as "Bulgarian rhythms" ), where the musical time is not split in even beats, but in longer and shorter.
