The Lake
One of my favourite things to do is visit the lake with my family each summer. It's so beautiful and peaceful. It's the best way for me to reenergize.
I love to take photographs of the lake, and it seems to me the lake is a very cooperative subject. Every day the lake allows me to obtain a different pose as it changes with the wind, the sun's touch, and the other variations in the weather. It even changes at different times of the day.
Sometimes in the early morning, the lake is as clear as glass with clouds floating on the surface and reflected in its depths.
At sunset it can be all the colours of the rainbow, from deep indigo to rich reds and golds.
We run to the edge of the lake each evening to watch the performance of the sun going down. It is the perfect end to a perfect day.
The Lake is a reflection of our lives, sometimes stormy, sometimes calm, sometimes dangerous, ever changing, sometimes within minutes or seconds. I love the lake. It makes me appreciate life and nature and our connections to each other. Whenever I am sad, I think of the lake and how it can change so quickly, but is always beautiful. I appreciate every moment I am there.
