Stillgelegte Erinnerungen an die Zukunft. Die Funktion des Flachbildfernsehers im 70er-Jahre-Bus erklärte sich während der Fahrt nicht.

(Wir haben beim Busfahren übrigens ein seltsames Muster beobachtet. Gleich ob die Fahrt zwei, vier oder acht Stunden dauern soll: Sie dauert immer zwei Stunden länger.)

Sunset in a restaurant on the riverbanks of the Mekong

This place was special indeed. In none of the southeast Asian cities that I'd seen before I had experienced something similar. Dozens of small little restaurants lined up on the riverbank here in laid back Vientiane. What could be better than enjoying the sunset above the half-empty riverbed of the Mekong with a chilled beer in my hand?

Buddha statues at Wat Sisaket

I liked Wat Sisaket best among the places I visited in Vientiane. It had a special, calm atmosphere that Buddhist temples sometimes have. So I spent quite some time taking it all in and looking at the many Buddha statues. I accidentally deleted all my pics, so this one is merely a replacement that reminds me of the impressions I had.
