Let me say a big thank-you to the models Jemini and Meera for their patience throughout the day. First time as models and they handled the whole thing with great bemusement and a smile. Also a big cheer for Pete and Nadia for their energy and ideas around the set. Lastly to Kajal for her excellent make-up & styling work. She really brings the whole thing to life and these images would be a shadow of themselves without her contributions.

I really like the vintage doll-like quality to Louise's skin in this image. It's not her favourite from the session, but I love her distant expression and the mannequin-like posture.

There's a theatrical quality to this one that gets me. If only we could have imported the Parthenon into the studio for the afternoon, it would have made for a nice little background scene. High drama!.

Lou is always very critical of her profile, it's probably her biggest bug-bear come to think of it, and I'm thoroughly convinced there's very little to worry about.

Accessories! One of the joys of working with a make-up artist is they think beyond just the lighting and technical aspect of the shoot. Maybe with more experience I'll get the hang of it... or maybe should just leave it to experts.

The folding fan, lipstick and earrings just pop in this. Great job from Lou... I love the "I-couldn't-possibly-do-anything-wrong.." expression.

Results from my first session in collaboration with a make-up artist.

Contain thee, restless nerves.... Instead of simply Lou and I working together, we suddenly had other people relying on us to produce something of a presentable standard. As this was my first attempt at a semi-studio collaborative environment, we all agreed to keep the styling to a minimum and have fun with it all.

This session we worked with the lovely and talented Semra, who buzzed about prepping and pampering Louise through the course of the afternoon.
