After ~100km of driving, the engine died, and I had to get it fixed. Through friends I had made in Melbourne, I was able to locate a replacement engine in a wreck shop in Colac, Victoria. Very basic, as in no services provided, but it made for excellent solitude, and a lot of rustle from the bush at night.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0px;">My tent has a story of its own. Handed down to me from a couple who used to do pro bono work in Arnhemland in the 70s. She was a teacher, he was a doctor, and they didn't need their tent anymore, so they gave it to me. I met them in Queensland, and stayed with them for a couple of days.
