A female reporter drags her cameraman to an island where they believe toxic waste dumping is taking place within the indigenous active volcano area. With help form the local village resistance, the duo manage to infiltrate the chemical plant and film the evidence that proves the dumping is in fact taking place.

It is not long before the alarm is raised and the cameraman is captured and brought before the evil commander while the reporter manages to escape and meets a helpful snake venom expert in the jungle. The two plan on going back to the plant for a rescue mission, but little do they know that chaos will erupt with the awakening of the Alien from the Deep which has the whole compound in disarray.

This was Antonio Margheriti's last incursion to the sci-fi genre and last collaboration with long time producer Gianfranco Couyoumdjian. It really is more of a horror-action-adventure film though with an ecological message about the systematic destruction of nature which Margheriti again visited with his next film Indio.

THE SLAYER (1982)

A young couple along with the wife’s brother and his girlfriend travel to an isolated island retreat for some long awaited rest and relaxation.

The wife suffers from recurring nightmares of being chased by a maniacal monster around the island, but she soon realizes that the dreams are actually premonitions of things to come.

It not very long before The Slayer begins to hunt down his victims, killing them in various inventive and gore-filled ways.

Ruggero Deodato, mostly known for his gore-fest cannibal films like Cannibal Holocaust, tries his hand at directing a standard slasher movie.

The story has a bodybuilder, junk-food addict, wild blonde nymph and their friends being stalked by a figure that lurks in the shadows. As they explore the Colorado wilderness, their numbers dwindle.

Feautring Last House on the Left's David Hess, cameo by Ivan Rassimov, and a great pulsing soundtrack by Claudio Simonetti (Goblin).

A professor and his crew of scientists make an interesting discovery when they attempt to revive the cell of an unknown creature. Little do they know, their experiment has sparked life, and unlocked the awesome and destructive power of an uncontrollable alien force.

A TV reporter (The Beyond’s David Warbeck) tries to find reasons for the strange activity that engulfs the discovery, but when the professor and his staff are killed by a gang, answers become crucial as the alien continues to grow and utilizes its powerful psychic energies to control and kill.

Written by some of the greats in Italian cinema including Luigi Cozzi, Sergio Martino, and Dardano Sacchetti, this is one of the bloodiest Jaws rip offs ever made.

When several boats are torn apart and badly mangled corpses are washed ashore, people start wondering why the teeth marks on the bodies don't lead to any known animal.

Several scientists try to save the local population from this shark-like monster that is a genetically-created hybrid of an octopus and a prehistoric proto-shark. Unfortunately its creator is as brutal a killer as his satanic creation and won't even stop at murder to cover its existence.
