Higashi hongan-ji, under repairs

Thinking about it, any temple that's seen a couple of centuries of continuous use is going to need a bit of work - but it always surprises me to see a beautiful temple surrounded by scaffolds and builders.

Shrine, Asakasa

One of the things I love about travelling to Asian cities is the way shrines and temples are just... there, and part of everyday life. You don't see that in Australia. As a Buddhist, too, it's also very nice being somewhere where my religious beliefs are a part of life for people. Most relaxing!

There's this strange yellow fog here right now.. I'd assume the rest of Sydney would have it too? Photos taken around 6.30 to 7am. White balance is set to auto. I tried setting it to cloudy etc, but it was even more yellow.

I'd gone to Lennox Gardens, as it was a primo place for panoramic shots, whilst I taught myself how to make them. Came out very over-exposed, but if you look carefully, you can see a wee Telstra tower. Daw
