Tranquilizers are drugs usually prescribed by doctors and they treat various conditions such as anxiety, insomnia, panic attacks and various kinds of trauma. They regulate the amount of stimulation in the brain and this enables the patient to slow down and think clearly. These kinds of drugs have similar effects to alcohol and other sedatives. They can be addictive and this comes about from over dependence and constant usage from increase tolerance which calls for an increase of dosage. One such drug is Valium and Xanax.
