The concept of a halfway house is something that a lot of people put into practice. A recovering addict may explore the option of living in the halfway house for a number of reasons. For some people, it is because they have nowhere else to go. Addiction can cause people to do desperate things. There are situations where people use up all their resources to finance their drug habits. This may lead to financial ruin. There are some people that lose everything and once they are done with treatment, have nothing to go back to. This can be a pretty bad situation if options were not provided.
