"Mohammad Shabrawi from the West Bank town of Tulkarm was arrested last January, aged 16, at about 2.30am. "Four soldiers entered my bedroom and said you must come with us. They didn't say why, they didn't tell me or my parents anything" he told the Guardian. Handcuffed with a plastic tie and blindfolded, he thinks he was first taken to an Israeli settlement, where he was made to kneel – still cuffed and blindfolded – for an hour on an asphalt road in the freezing dead of night."

"Another Azzun youngster, Sameer Saher, was 13 when he was arrested at 2am. "A soldier held me upside down and took me to a window and said: 'I want to throw you from the window.' They beat me on the legs, stomach, face," he said."

"Juvenile detainees also allege harsh interrogation methods. The Guardian interviewed the father of a minor serving a 23-month term for throwing rocks at vehicles. Ali Odwan, from Azzun, said his son Yahir, who was 14 when he was arrested, was given electric shocks by a Taser while under interrogation."

"At the beginning, nearly all deny the accusations. Most say they are threatened; some report physical violence. Verbal abuse – "You're a dog, a son of a whore" – is common. Many are exhausted from sleep deprivation. Day after day they are fettered to the chair, then returned to solitary confinement. In the end, many sign confessions that they later say were coerced."

"Israeli military law has been applied in the West Bank since Israel occupied the territory more than 44 years ago. Since then, more than 700,000 Palestinian men, women and children have been detained under military orders."

Jesus Rifles !

President Barrack Obama, during his first overseas visit in Turkey, said the U.S. “is not and will never be at war with Islam.” However, US gunsights inscriptions with biblical references that might lead some to believe that Americans are using “Jesus rifles” against Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan.
U.S. Central Command spokesman, Air Force Maj. John Redfield, told the Associated Press, “This situation is not unlike the situation with U.S. currency. Are we going to stop using money because the bills have ‘In God We Trust’ on them? As long as the sights meet the combat needs of troops, they’ll continue to be used.”
Redfield says the inscriptions do not break military rules on proselytizing because the equipment is not distributed beyond the troops who are actually using them.
Trijicon’s director of sales and marketing, told Associated Press, “We don’t publicize this.” He says, “It’s not something we make a big deal out of. But when asked, we say, ‘Yes, it’s there.’ ”

According to an ABC report, one of the citations on the gun sights, 2COR4:6, is an apparent reference to Second Corinthians 4:6 of the New Testament, which reads:

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."

Other references include citations from the books of Revelation, Matthew and John dealing with Jesus as “the light of the world.” John 8:12, referred to on the gun sights as JN8:12, reads,

"Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life"

In an interview with ABC, Mikey Weinstein, president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation feels the religious inscriptions will give the Taliban and other enemies of the U.S. a propaganda tool where they could say American troops are Christian crusaders invading Muslim countries.

"I don’t have to wonder for a nanosecond how the American public would react if citations from the Koran were being inscribed onto these U.S. armed forces gun sights instead of New Testament citations."

This is an image of a protesting young girl. I took it in Al Quds Day in Marble Arch, London 2010.
Iman Darweesh Al Hams (Arabic: ايمان درويش الهمص, also 'Iyman'), (1991 - 5 October 2004) was a 13-year-old Palestinian girl killed by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) fire near a military observation post in a no-man's zone near the Philadelphi Route on 5 October 2004, in Rafah in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF commander of the soldiers which shot her was accused by his comrades and Palestinian witnesses of using automatic fire into the girl's body as she lay wounded on the ground, a subject which was brought into investigation. The commander was found not guilty of illegal use of his weapon, conduct unbecoming an officer and perverting the course of justice by an Israeli military court.
Human rights groups cite her death as one of several incidents which illustrate a culture of impunity in the IDF.
According to Umar Abu Khalifa, 25, Israeli soldiers stormed the area, the girl left the bag and tried to run. Bullets hit the (girl's) bag and then soldiers opened fire on the girl.
Palestinian witnesses reported that it was more than an hour before Israeli troops would allow medics to evacuate the body in an ambulance. At least fifteen bullets were found in the girl's body by Palestinian hospital officials.
Dr. Mohammed al-Hams, who inspected the child's body told The Guardian newspaper that:
She has at least 17 bullets in several parts of the body, all along the chest, hands, arms, legs ... The bullets were large and shot from a close distance. The most serious injuries were to her head. She had three bullets in the head.
Ehab Hams, an older brother of the slain girl, expressed his distrust of Israeli military justice: We demand the prosecution of Iman's killer (but) we do not trust the Israeli judicial system. He added, My sister was an innocent little girl.
