We just weren't prepared / dressed for 13 degrees... Add the wind chill on the boat, and we were really freezing.

Sunset in a restaurant on the riverbanks of the Mekong

This place was special indeed. In none of the southeast Asian cities that I'd seen before I had experienced something similar. Dozens of small little restaurants lined up on the riverbank here in laid back Vientiane. What could be better than enjoying the sunset above the half-empty riverbed of the Mekong with a chilled beer in my hand?
