Sunrise seen from Piton des Neiges (3069 m (10069 ft)), Réunion

During our stay on Réunion we also hiked to the summit of Piton des Neiges which is the highest point on Réunion and also the highest point in the Indian Ocean. It's possible to do the trail as a two-day hike with an overnight stay at the Gîte de la Caverne Dufour and to do the summit in the very early morning hours. We started at 03:00 AM at the Gîte to be on time at the summit for the sunrise. Together with some other people we were on the summit to wait for the sunrise. Finally we had this beautiful view at the sunrise and it was really a magic moment to see it.

View at Hausach and Kinzig valley / Germany

Another shot from my Westweg hike. You have this view from Spitzfelsen if you look westwards, you can see Hausach and the Kinzig valley surrounded by all the mountains and summits.

The Westweg leads you down to Hausach, just to go uphill directly after Hausach. Especially this part of the Westweg is one of the steepest part of the whole Westweg.

Misty and wet forest near Feldberg, Germany

This shot was taken after the summit of Feldberg, which is the highest mountain in the Black Forest. It was misty the whole day, everything was wet and the green of the leaves and fern was extremely colorful.

View from Gaislachkogl (3.058 m), near Sölden, Austria

Another shot for my small series about Austria's nature and landscape.

Looking south from Gaislachkogl to Italy. On the right you can see the summit "Äußere Schwarze Schneid (3.255 m)", beneath to the summit is Gaislacher Lake. You can also see the summit of Nederkogel (3.163 m, nearly in the middle of the shot). Also Timmelsjoch is visible which is a high mountain pass that creates a link between Italy and Austria. The city in the left valley is Sölden.

Beauty of the mountain

This beauty was just standing beside the trail downwards of Gaislachkogl (Sölden, Austria) and I couldn't resist, I had to make this shot. It took some seconds before he/she left the trail and you can't see it but he/she was really tall.

This will be the first shot of a small series about Austria's mountains and nature.

Somewhere near Schneizlreuth in the south of Bavaria/Germany

This will be my last winter shot for this year. I shot it at our last snow hiking tour before the weather got bad and the whole view was gone. I really like the clouds in this shot and the far view from this point.
