Another showing the way to the museum. That village got an unbelievable density of different sculpted romans. / Noch einer am Weg zum Museum. Die haben wirklich eine hohe Bevoelkerungsdichte am Roemerstatuen aller moeglichen Stile.

Cute old Farmhouse / Niedlicher alter Bauernhof

I like that historistic entrance -- and no further sculpted roman anywhere, unless you count the Madonna above the door as citizen of honour in the vatican. / Ich mag diesen Eingangsbereich aus dem Historismus -- und nirgends ein weiterer kuenstlicher Roemer, ausser man zaehlt die Madonna ueber der Tuere als Vatikan Ehrenbuergerin.

This cute mug got a pattern on the outside like scales or waves and in this river monster or somesuch. / Vergroessertes Feinsteinzeug besser gestellter Roemer. Dieser Trinkbecher hat ein Muster wie Schuppen oder Wellen und darin Flussungeheuer oder sowas.

The Venus of Abodiacum. In the early 19th century this beauty was the peep show attraction of an innkeeper at Rauhenlechsberg, bought from a farmer in Epfach who found her whilst sorting fieldstones from the soil of a patch and offered him the "nekkid heathen image" for sale. / Die Venus von Abodiacum. Die Schoene arbeitete im fruehen 19ten Jahrhundert als Peepshowgirl fuer einen Gastwirt in Rauhenlechsberg. Der wiederum gab an er hatte sie von einem Bauersmann aus Epfach der auf seinem Acker Steinbrocken aufsammelte und ihm dann das "nackerte Heidenbild" fuer Geld ueberliess.

The wooden bridge display. The roman bridge pillars had iron shoes to last. They where found when building the dam for elecricity in the 20th century. They had aquired just a triffle of rust.... / Die Holzbrueckenaustellung. Die Brueckenpfeiler der Roemer hatten alle einen Eisenschuh fuer die Haltbarkeit. Die hat man beim Bau vom Stromwehr fuer die LEW im 20sren Jahrhundert wiedergefunden. Waren etwas angerostet....

Now is this the road to modern times Pretzen near Erding or to Geltendorf.... / Die Bruecke und das befestigte Lager auf der Insel im Zinnsoldatendiorama. Da ist ein Wegweiser -- nicht sehr roemisch im Typus -- nach Brataium dort hinueber. Wenn man jetzt nur wuesste ob das heutige Pretzen bei Erding geneint ist oder Geltendorf...

Claudius Paternus, flashed this time to avoid certain other light phenomenons / Claudius Paternus, geblitzt um andere Lichtphaenomaene zu vermeiden.

A few years ago, with bavarian rhombes for earings. This, as I found out now, must have been due to the old coachhouse doors of the museum entrance with diagonal standing tiny square windows in each wing : / Vor einigen Jahren, mit bayrischen Rauten als Ohringen. Diesmal achtete ich darauf und fand den Grund in form von zwei winzigen Fenstern in dem alten Remisentor durch das man in das Museum kommt, eigendlich Quadrate die auf der Spitze stehen.

Roman Well House / Roemisches Brunnenhaus

The Nymphaeum was sacred to the Romans, a minor goddess lived there and kept watch over the drinking water. THis here was rediscovered during building a school. Now it graces the parking lot there as an outpost of the roman museum. The building is sort of a residence hotel now after less than 3 and a half decades, but there is still access for siteseers... /Das Nymphaneum war dem Roemer heilig. Da wohnte eine kleine Quellgoettin die sich um das Trinkwasser der Siedlumg kuemmerte. Dieses hier fand man als die Schule neu gebaut wurde und nun steht es dort auf dem zugaenglichen Parkplatz als Aussenposten vom Museum. Das Gebaeude scheint nun eine FeWo-Anlage zu sein und keine Schule mehr, und das nach nur 3 Dekaden und einer angebrochenen, aber man kommt noch auf das Grundstueck um das Brunnenhaus anzusehen...
