There is still an asphalt cover inside and it's not allowed to walk in but during special festivities when all car traffic is lead elsewhere. The beams are stll all the old ones it seems but the ones between the windows. / Ein Blick hinein. Sie hat noch immer den Alsphalt belag und man darf zu fuss nicht hinen ausser beim Tag des Denkmals wenn sie alle Autos umleiten. Higher upper there are pictures about the creation and one below David's story, but less good preserved. / Die Sache mit dem Sohn der sich den Noah im Adamskostuem frech ansah, und darunter laed schon der Joseph seine Brueder ein. Henry IV de Montfort prays a "Misere mei Deus" whilst Saint Mary trains busyly with a Hula-Hoop. Seriosly, the thing is supposed to be a second Halo all around her, early 15th century style.... / Stifterfenster. Heinrich IV von Montfort betet ein "" Misere mei Deus" und die heilige Maria trainiert waehrenddessen eifrig mit dem Hula-Hoop Reifen. No, only some ladies of the Monfort family squeezing into the same panel at the bottom of the donor's window. The middle one is Claire, who was an Abbess at Bad Buchau, the other two are both Cunigundas, daughter and daughter in Law to the guy shown higher up. And on the oppodite pane are 3 gents in armour , the sons of Henry. The 6 of them where the real patrons, as Henry died 1408 and the window is allegedly 20 years newer. I love the purple cloak of the abbess, much like a Bishop. / Hera, Athene und Aphrodite? Nein, nur einige Damen aus dem Hause Montfort zusammengedraengt in einem Panel am unteren Ende des Stifterfensters. Klara de Montfort Domina Religiosa, die in der Mitte, war damals Aebtissin von Bad Buchau, die anderen zwei heissen beide Kunigunde, die eine Heinrichs andere Tochter, die andere Frau des aeltesten maennlichen Nachkommen. Gegenueber ist ein Panel mit drei Mannsleuten in Ruestung, die Sohne des Heinrich. Diese Leute waren wohl die massgeblichen Wohltaeter der Kirche, denn Heinrich verstarb schon 1408, und das Fenster soll wohl 20 Jahre zu neu fuer seine Lebzeit sein. Likely just a saint whose veneraton was a tradition in the donors family. / Verena von Zurzach mit ihrem Kamm in einem Turm ist auch auf dem Stifterfenster. This Madonna once had a pilgrimage tradition. Parts of the image date back to around 1350, but there was a lot of changes and stuff added and taken away again over time. No idea if the child always held a regular applefruit rather than an imperial orb. Anyways the somewhat illfitting crown, the turned sceptre and the twinkling stone encrusted hem to the golden cloak are a baroque upgrade after the protestand looting in the thirty years' war. Back then she was presented with a huge gilded halo all around her in a glassbox, but those things are gone again. / Gnadenbild von Eriskirch. Die Madonna hatte frueher ihre eigene Wallfahrt. Die haupsaechlichen Teile des Schnitzwerkes stammen von um 1350, aber es gab sehr viele Veraenderungen, Dinge die Weggenommen oder hinzu gefuegt wurden. Ich weiss nicht ob das Kind immer einen richtigen Speiseapfel statt eines Globus Cruciger in der Hand hielt, aber wohl das man nach der protestantischen Pluenderung im 30jaehrigen Krieg viel ueberarbeitet hat und die eher schlecht passenden Kronen, das gedrechselte Zepter und auch die funkelnden Steine am Saum des goldenen Mantels aus dieser Zeit sein sollen. Here the part with the sword and flower growing from the judges mouth to symbolize the kind words for the good sent to heaven and the condemnation for the bad sent to hell. / Das Juengste Geicht aus dem Kirchenschiff, das etwas aelter sein soll als die Szenen in der Apsis. Es ist schlecht erhalten, und zum Teil durch spaetere Wandnieschen zerstoert, aber es ist die uebliche mittelalterliche Darstellung. Obviously. those two belong to the later ones / Noch ein Wandbild, dieses zeigt die 3 lebenden und 3 toten Maenner. Odd how Saint Mary seems to have vanished, whilst at least decisively drawn lines in the other caracters are mostly well preserved and the facial expressions show this was done by a rather gifted artist. . Ein Heiliges Grab befindet sich passenderweise auch im abgehaengten Bereich unter der Orgel, hoch unter der Decke. It got an unblemished body however, no founts of blood as usual in such depictions up in the mountains/ Ein Feiertagschristus, das sagt zumindest der gedruckte Kirchenfuehrer.
