Might well be, at Zeffirelli he had got a nude scene in a town square, and this square was named for Saint Francis, as the charity that built the senior citizen home named than Sankt Franziskus. Strangely to look up anything about this artwork online did not give me any facts on the naked man by the stairs, the intent behind or at least the artist. / Koennte sein, bei Zeffirelli hatte er ja mal eine Nacktszene mitten auf einem Platz, und das Gelaende heisst ja Franziskusplatz seit die Liebenaustiftung das neue Altenheim so getauft und hingestellt hat. Aber Googlen brachte hier seltsamerweise nix zutage ueber die nackte Mannsgestalt, die Absicht dahinter oder zumindest den Kuenstler.

At Fridolin Endrass Square. They are part of a larger sculpure group all of brick, mortar and tiles. They sit and look caring -- but only for each other. / Am Fridolin Endrass Platz. Sie gehoeren zu einer grosseren Skulpturengruppe aus Ziegeln, Moertel und Kacheln. Sie sitzen da und sehen sehr sozial aus -- aber eben nur zueinander.

Political Captive / Poltischer Gefangener

However the way he sits there he is climbed for lighthearted posing by people not ever noticing him being bound to a chair for execution, just that his pose offers most room on the lap. Without noticable historical marker, that's understandable even, that people take the memorial assemble with the empty benches and 3 sculptures as whimsical resting place. I had to live 14 years in this city and (after I finally took pics of what I called myself "that traffic roundabout with the funny brickpeople") actively reseach a long time to learn what this is supposed to be. It was already there for a few years in 2004, so never discussed in the local press so I noticed. / Allerdings, so wie er da sitzt wird er gerne zum darauf hocken fuer witzige Bilder genutzt, von Menschen denen gar nicht auffaellt das er fuers Erschiessungskomando an den Stuhl gefesselt ist, nur dass auf diesem Figurenschoss der meisste Platz ist. So ohne gut auffindbare Geschichtstafel kann man das auch durchaus verstehen, dass Leute die gesammte Mahnmal Gruppe mit den Figuren und leeren Baenken als lustigen Rastplatz mit Deko ansehen. Ich musste 14 Jahre in dieser Stadt wohnen und (erst nachdem ich das Ding das ich fuer mich "Verkehrsrondell mit Ziegelmenschen" nannte mal fotografiert hatte) ziemlichen Suchaufwand betreiben, bis ich was drueber heraus fand. Es war halt 2004 schon da, so nie ein Thema in der Lokalpresse das ich bemerkt haette.

Appartment House / Wohnblock

One that got renovated to look like it was new and modern in the first quarter of the 20th century. No plastic insulation siding and rolling shutter boxes, but shingles and wooden panes with tiny jigsaw design holes. / Eines das renoviert wurde so das es aussieht wie es wohl auch neu war, im fruehen 20sten Jahrhundert. Keine laminierten Panele und Rolladenkaesten, sondern Schindeln und Holzfensterlaeden mit ausgesaegten Herzchen und Bluemchen.

Some fancy copper in the deep shadows, but no aditional current educational historic marker at the corner as we got all around town. / Eine wertig wirkende Kupferplatte tief im Schatten, aber keine der einheitlichen Historientafeln am ueblichen Stelle am Haus, wie man es bei beim Stadtrundgang bei den Wohnsitzen besonderer Buerger sonst erwartet und auch findet.
