Castle Neuschwanstein / Schloss Neuschwanstein

Seen from the royal quarry. Neuschwanstein is at the outer walls mostly "Alterschrofner Marble", a sandstone from the local tertiary sea / Vom koeniglichen Steinbruch gesehen. Die Verkleidung von Neuschlanstein ist ganz aus Alterschrofner Marmor, einem Sandstein aus der lokalen Terziaersee.

A landscape architect with the unspeakable name Sckell created the Endglish Garden in a wetland below Hohenschwangau still in the times of Ludwig's dad, when Neuschwanstein did not stand up there / Ein Landschaftsarchitekt mit den kaum artikulierbaren Namen Sckell kreirte den Englischen Garten im Filz untehalb von Hohenschwangau fuer den Vater vom Ludwig, bevor Neuschwanstein an seinem Platz stand.

Perzenkopf Peak Turnout / Abzweig auf den Perzenkopfgipfel

Alas, the ruin Frauenstein is not much more than our dear Haslach -- there is just a rustic-romantic commemorative marker of old, sponsored by king Max himself, and a modern printed one with a drawing pointing out a straight artificial moat, but no view since trees where allowed to grow naturally on the rock. Most impressive is the rock walls and builders that form the head on the wanning ridge when one passes the serpentine just below on the "Fischerweg" / Leider ist Ruine Frauenstein kaum besser erhalten als unsere liebe Haslach -- es gibt dort einen primitiv-romantischen Gedenkstein den Koenig Max selber dort hinstellen liess und eine moderne Tafel mit einer Skizze vom Halsgraben aber keine Aussicht, weil die Baeme ungehindert ueberall auf dem Platteu und darunter wachsen. Am eindrucksfollsten ist die Stelle am Fischerweg, wo man unter der steilen und ueberhaengenden Felswand, die den Kopf definiert, hindurchschleicht.

From above after we crept back to the trail. There was still nobody else looking out there, due to the snow and ice on the rustic steps / Von oben nachdem wir auf den Weg zuruckgeklettert waren. Es war noch keine andere Gruppe aud dem Aussichtstspunkt, wohl wegen des vielen Schnees und Eis auf den Stufen.

Ludwig II, as opposed to his grandpa in black and white. He has to work as advertiser for the museum now, too. / Ludwig II, im Gegensatz zu seinem Opa in schwarz-weiss. Jetzt muss er auch als Werbekoeder fuer das Museum arbeiten.

I think the two snowy peaks in the back are Magnuseck and Vilser Kegel. On the rock to the right rising up in the low wooded Schwarzenberg range from lakelevel is the Pindar lookout. / Ich glaube die zwei Schneegipfel weiter hinten sind Magnuseck and Vilser Kegel. Auf der Felsformation die rechts am bis oben bewaldeten Schwazenbergmassiv aus dem Wasserspiegel ragt ist der Pindarplatz.

A cute historistic building. I just love the "afternoon to wee hours" translated roman clockface! I think at all the other royal giftstore knick-knacks sold -- just why no party wristwatches with a reproduction, just the white and blue bavarian jolly time when pubs are open? / Ein wirklich putziges historistisches Gebaeude. Ich liebe diese Uhr mit dem uebersetzten roemischen Zifferbatt das speziell die Zeit am Nachmittag bis zur Nacht angibt. Bei all den anderen koeniglich bayrischen Mitbringseln die dort verkauft werden muss ich mich schon wundern -- warum keine Party-Armbanduhren mit genau diesem Blatt, das nur die zuenftige Gaudizeit wenn der Tourist abfeiert zaehlt?

Perched above Hohenschwangau Village. It still got some some sunrays when businesses at Hohenschwangau started to switch lights on. The later was stuffed with folks like other attractions rather in summer, but a sales person claimed it was a low traffic weekend... / Hoch ueber Dorf Hohenschwangau. Es bekam noch einige Sonnenstrahlen ab als man in Hohenschwangau schon anfing die ersten Lichter anzusachalten Letzteres quoll ueber mit Leuten wie andere Schlosspark-Attraktionen nur im Sommer, aber ein Verkaeufer meinte, es sei ja fast nix los an jenem Wochenende....
