Having a walk up the landing by the dam. Not that they need to use the portage for their bum, they are banded, but free and capable of flight / Bei einem Spaziergang die Bootslaende hinauf. Nicht das sie um das Wehr herum watscheln muessten um den Hintern auf die andere Seite zu tragen. Sie sind zwar beringt und etwas zutraulich, aber eigentlich wild und fliegen sehr gut.

Kinsau Old Weir / Altes Wehr Kinsau

The ruin's two towers on islands in the river got recently renovated to house birds and bats. A side effect is, that they look rather nice now, a bit like a toy castle/ Die zwei Tuerme der Ruine auf Inseln im Fluss wurden kuerzlich renoviert um Voegeln und Fledermaeusen ein Heim zu bieten. Ein Nebeneffekt ist, das dies auch sehr nett ausschaut, wie ein ganz kleines Wasserschloss.

Poligonatum sp. / Eine Art Weisswurz

Has everywhere just two paired blossoms, as a Salomon's Seal, but the slim leafs of a David's Harp. It was also much larger as the other, but it did not smell more intensively. / Es hat ueberall nur zwei blueten im Paerchen wie ein Salomonssiegel, doch die Blaetter sind schmal wie bei einer Vielbluetigen Weisswurz. Es war auch viel groesser als das vorige Poligonatum, doch duftete es nicht intensiver.

The pair with both showing the upper wing pattern at once as good as it was possible. Especially the male flutters during courtship very rapidely / Das Paerchen, beide mit sichtbarer Flueegeloberseite so gut es even ging. Besonders das Maennchen haelt die Fluegel bei der Brautwerbung keine Sekunde still.

Reichling above the Lech / Reichling ueber dem Lech

Seen from the ridge above Kinsau. There are surprisingly still many swans just hanging out in late spring at the tip of the river islands. The artificial high water embankment downriver from the waterplant can also be seen well from here. / Von der Hangkante ueber Kinsau gesehen. Am Ende der Flussinseln sitzen noch ueberraschend viele Schwaene gesellig herum. Der Hochwasserpolder unterhalb der Staustufe ist auch gut erkennbar.

Back at the dam lake we met this one, showing off with it's reflection. It is a very special swan, but you can't see it this way.... / Zurueck am Staudamm fanden wir den hier, er trug sein elegantes Spiegelbild spazieren. Das ist ein ganz besonderer Schwan, aber so ist das fast nicht zu sehen.....

It's an adult "polish swan"of the immutabilis morph, only to ID if one gets a good look on the feet like here. / Er ist ein ausgewachsener Polnischer Schwan, also die Variante immutabilis, was man nur erkennen kann, wenn er die Fuesse draussen hat.
