Wonton Mi. That quintessential Hong Kong snack, which can be eaten almost any time of the day after 11am. Cheap, delicious, and filling.

Elaine Cheng ~ working in Human Resources in the hotel industry

民園麵家 : A historical name of a noodle food stall on the Elgin Street in
Central. Due to the license problem, it was finally forced to close down on
30 July 2005. A signature campaign was launched previously with the aim of
the historical preservation of an important Hong Kong food culture.
One of the famous food items of 民園麵家 was beef brisket noodle (牛腩麵). A small kitchen area with all the production made.

We are still have around 30 street food stalls in Hong Kong; and one more
"off" the list as street stall - 民園麵家. Will it say.. "I'll be back" ?

Yes, it finally came back after few months’ goodbye. However, it’s not the
same as it was used to be. It relocated to a shop nearby the old address. We
will always miss the good old days and places.

------------

My blog : http://blogger-travel.blogspot.com/

I want to use my blog to capture some of the beautiful places and moments. Not only the places that i had been visited, but also deliver
message to preserve some heritages of Hong Kong.

Elaine Cheng ~ working in Human Resources in the hotel industry

This is one of the oldest grocery stores in Hong Kong located at 62 Hollywood Road in Central. This kind of grocery stores were very popular in decades ago which used to sell rice, soya sauce, salt, sugar, cookery oil to its neighbourhood .... sometimes these stores allowed to settle the bill in monthly payment rather than the instant one. However, they are gradually replaced by chained supermarkets and convenience stores.
