Years ago Joelle gave me a set of hip-high waders. They were quite used and so large that I wore 2 pair of heavy sox inside them to make them fit. But that turned out to be one of the best presents in my life! Joelle already had a pair so each week for several years while we both lived along the ocean we would don our waders and head off to become "intreped explorers". And, oh the adventures we had! We'd cross Widow White Creek and trudge along the beach, dunes, and bluffs in any and all weather. But this one day we took our cameras along. When we came upon this tree stump and spotted the little pond of trapped water we decided to experiment with capturing "motion". Joelle slowly dropped small amounts of water into the puddle in order to create these perfect little ripples. Everything turned out so well coordinated (color, lighting, proportions, lines, etc.) that it is still one of my absolutely favorite photos ever! And if you look very closely at the extreme top of the photo just to the left of center you will see a small portion of the toe of Joelle's wonderful old waders. Well, those waders are long gone and neither of us live at the ocean any longer but the photos and the memories remain. Thank you, Joelle!!
