Wow. These are a challenge to grow, even in a hothouse (I'm told). I'm planning on putting a small terrarium together, and was thinking of trying to see if I can grow one of these exotic bug-eaters...

try sarracenia purpurea first, they even stand -25 degrees, so you can cultivate them outside. I´ve got this one since 7 years and it regularly flowers. grown it from seeds.

I's say that -25degC is rather common for winters in this range! I used to live near the top middle of this range...

cool!
i know of wild plants of s. purpurea in germany and in switzerland.
they grow there since more than 30 years...
try it it is very much fun with carnivores - at the moment I am regrowing Drosera capensis. had it years ago and now it returns... :-))
