I'm intrigued about the story behind this image.

Danish tradition is to have a candle with the numbers 1 through 24 to do a Christmas countdown. As the candle is burned down, you approach the 24th (which of course is when we celebrate Christmas). In this case my mother had bought 24 different cube candles with the numbers -- which made it an obvious 23 holiday shot:
