How to make 23 better? Post and discuss ideas here.

i want to pay! :)

but, unfortunately, i do not have a credit card and, for some reasons that must not be discussed here, i still mistrust the paypal system. however, i´d love to send cash by traditional mail if this would be an alternative that you would agree in. therefore, if this would be ok, would you please tell me an adress where to send the money to? :)

Hey ugly,

Everybody is welcome to pay. Usually we give out three different options:
- Paying via credit card from the Options menu.
- Paying via Paypal by sending €20 to team@23hq.com
- Sending the money (€20 or $30) to our offices along with a pleasant post card to hang on our wall. The address is listed here.

In most cases, the first two options should work well though?

hey steffen,

i´m sure the first two options work perfectly well in most cases.
however, it seems that i´m one of "those" to whom the third fits best and i´m very thankful that this is possible!

i´ll send the 20€ as soon as i´ve got an appropriate post card to hang on to your wall (what may take me a few days..). :)

u.

I understand the mistrust against a monetary system with their customer service record.
What about offering gift certificates? This might be an elegant way to "help out a friend" ;) or invite someone to join the community... instead of renewing the subscription, one would get sent a magic number to print out or email someone. I don't know if there's anything against "printing your own currency", but this could be a welcome subscription option for some.

Sure -- and in fact we do offer coupons to people in some cases. Our idea is to a) let people buy these as gifts and b) offer gift coupons for "one month of 23 Plus" along with a 1yr subscriptions.

I'm not sure how it solves the problem of credit cards though?

Oops, late answer...

It doesn't solve the credit card problem, but it might help circumvent it ;)

The idea of sending the money and a postcard via "real" mail is very nice.
It's so ... old fashioned! :-)

Searching for a nice postcard,

Maria pointed out that it's probably a crime to send real-life money in the mail in the EU. I still like the idea though... ;-)

Hello!

Why should it be forbidden?
And:
We are speaking (writing) about 20 Euro!
Maybe it is forbidden to send a huge amount of money via the post office, because of tax-reasons.

Of course everybody sends the money on his own risks - and the German post ("Deutsche Post") does not like their customers to send money within a normal letter.

Today i have to do something at the local post office and i will ask there about this thing.*

Yours,
Flusskiesel

* Sorry for my bad english ...

Yesterday, i asked in my local post office about that:
It is not forbidden to send money within the EU.
In Germany, You can send money:
1. Within as a normal letter (not recommended).
2. As a special "Wertbrief" or "Expressbrief" (safe, but expensive. From Germany to Denmark it costs 40,- Euro).
3. As an "Einschreiben" (registered letter). It is cheap, safer than No. 1, but You will send the money on Your own risk.

Good to know -- I'll certainly recommend option no 1 ;-)

Flusskiesel   November 15, 2008, 04:48 PM

Yes, but You are sending at Your own risk too, of course.

Thank You for Your mail!
My normal letter did his way von Duisburg to Copenhagen. :-)
