Geo-tagging and searching

I've just discovered the geotagging page (the places page) which was more by chance than anything else. You sure kept this fab feature quiet!
I've got one suggestion to make. From an individual photo page, would it be possible to provide a way of searching on both geo tags simultaneously? At the moment you can only search on latitude or longitude which is a bit meaningless. At the same time it would be good to make the search a bit "fuzzy", so that it searches for all geotags within a range (perhaps the equivalent to 50 kilometers, whatever that is in decimal places in the tag) so that you could find everybody's photos that were taken near to one of yours. Did that make any sense?
(I posted this first in a conversation in the geo-tagging group, but not sure if anybody goes there much!)

I actually did see it, but forgot about it again. Sorry.
Well, the main reason that you probably wouldn't know about 23places (we called it that before flickr came up with "flickr places", I promise) is that it's still very experimenal and very limited. Currently, you can geotag and have a map shown. And you can activate a hidden section which allows you to see all your photos on a map.
We're still some time away from actually finishing 23places in it's full-featured incarnation. There are plenty of plans, but little interest to be earnest. You suggestion, however, makes perfect sense and such a feature will certainly be included when we get there...

OK, well I'll wait patiently for the development to materialise. I think that the level of interest is also a consequence of how developed the idea is. So you get in a "catch 22": until people see what can be done, they don't show much interest, whilst I can understand that if no-one shows much interest then this is not going to be top of your list of priorities for the site's development!
