It was sheer luck, the time bracket in the year when the sun goes down exactly behind the heron colony from my own perch on the deck is smal, not at a time of the year leisurly sunset watching in the deck chair is feeling nice and usually it is either just not visible at all or still much to bright when it is directly above the trees to expose the sensor to it, leave alone a bird would pose close to the brightest spot.
