Beautiful light and shimmer on the water.... Nice capture!

Nice landscape with almost invisible brother...

A strange modern habit, the taking of selfies even if family is around that could take the shot of the landscape with the person in it.... some of our relatives are like this too. I have a dumb old cellphone that can not take photographs at all, tried at two occassions so far to take a few pictures with the smart one of my husband when I had no wide angle lens with me and was always a bit disgusted at the result... seems I can not compose propperly without looking with the eye into the view finder, also the shots tend to be to vivid, reminding of the good old cheery drugstore film developer...

i only recently succumbed to getting a smart phone and realize that trying to photograph with it is like picking up a camera for the very first time. everything is new. i do believe that a good photo can be had from any type of camera, but one has to know the nuances and linitations of the camera one is working with. for now i just take nomimportant photos with the "phone". don't know as i will learn its buggaboos for now. i am happy with the two cameras i am currently using and would rather put energy into taking film photos again then learning the "phone" camera.

I understand.
I was given a Pentax ME plus some lenses as an 18th birthday present from my parents and was an enthusiastic user for a few years! Then for about 30 years I simply stopped taking photos at all! I only started again when I ended up in Cornwall, then Spain and realised all this great scenery needed recording! I had a smart phone for the first time and later a small digital and haven't felt the need for anything else since then!
