Well, that confused me for a second. I was looking at one of my photos, and it said it was in the Nexus group.

Oh, and all the links in my gmail subscription are now broken too. :(
Wouldn't want to change the URL very often, methinks.

Hm yes, I was about to post about it. So what exactly broke when I changed it? Only links in previously sent messages?

Yes, all the links that went to threads here that had /next/conversation/ in the URL.

Why was it changed? *curious*

The current tagline and description are also very temporary... the idea is to move away from the "anti-flickr" ethos and into a more positive attitude.

Good to hear. Positive is always a better way forward. :)

Nice. Sounds good to me! I'd rather enjoy my new photo-home than look back and complain about my last one :) *goes back to uploading pictures*

"Anti-flickr" is probably a misnomer anyway. "Miffed by flickr", "rejected by flickr". Behold new icon by striatic, too. :)

Makes me feel more welcome too, as someone who is not leaving Flickr but hanging out here as well because this is where my some of my friends have landed. :)

topic links breaking in group notifications is not such a huge deal, because the frequency of referencing them is unlikely to be high. BUT, the same problem exists with the option to switch usernames... breaking many photo page links in the notifications despite the presence of the unique token and photo id that provides the target and the authentication.
Actually, this might be an assumption. They may not use the username in the url when digging up that photo page for display. But the group switch breaking things made me think they might?

@clickykbd I didn't catch that -- which links are breaking when?
In general, changing usernames or short names for groups will give you a new url; so all external links to your photo sharing account or the group will die. That's a given (and an argument for selecting your name carefully; I myself would actually prefer steffentchr to steffen, anyways...). All relations in the system between photos, users and groups will be unaffected by name change.

Will post a follow up when I have a chance to actually change my username and send some test notifications after work. But i'm anticipating it being the a-href that surrounds the included photo in the "send" and email subscriptions for user photos.
The "all photos on 23" link however doesn't rely on this username and won't have the same problem i imagine?
GustavoG points to the same problem as it applies to photogroup topic notifications.
Seems when a unique id for the content is present you could use that and it would always work even when a user or group name has switched out from under the notifications?
