Looks like a big chimney.... The buildings in the background are much more impressive ;)

Architect Joachim Reinheimer would be pleased to hear this. The hotel is from 1994 and got some awards for architecture.
For my taste it is just to -- well -- very striped and helmet headed just like Asterix.... it was sort of fun as as long the comic store Seetroll was up there too, but now it isn't any longer.

The Zeppelin Monument is not a chimney but an obelisk. It's very classic for it's times, also only from 1985 by since departed Toni Schneider-Manzell, same guy who made the famous modern catheral portal in Speyer. The Manzell in his name is indeed directly after the town district here in FN, as Schneider is a very common name and as an artist he needed a second word to stick out. He was born at Manzell, something he has in common with every Porsche Tractor ;o)
