Land of living skies and the harvest comes to a close for another year. Off in the distance, the combines stir up dust clouds as they gather up the last of the grain.

Thank you very much, Fizgig! Yes, the prairies are quite expansive and can be quite the site, at times. The joke/misconception about the prairies is that there's nothing to see out here. But really, there's so much to see out here because there's very little blocking your view! :o)

It's still unsettling for people from the mountains or their foothills. I don't get bored but I feel a bit exposed in very level country and I find it more difficult to judge distances.

I suppose it could be a lot like the sea; I never thought of it like that.

The other amazing thing out here, especially where we are, with no town or city lights near by, are the stars at night. You can see them big and bright, from horizon to horizon. When we first moved out here, this sight was a little unsettling, as I felt like I was going to fall off the face of the Earth. But now, it's a wonderful sight to take in and wouldn't trade it for anything.
