Very changeable weather on that day (May 1). Forecast was for t-shirt weather. Shortly after this shot it snowed and I froze! Fortunately, half an hour later the sun came out, the snow thawed and I was saved!

Yes, in spain everyone expects the weather will be just wonderful and much warmer than across the alpes -- until it suddenly isn't. We survived a blizzard on the road near Albacete once, and it was not funny at all in spite of being well equiped ourselves, having crossed the alps in our own car to get there. It was so scary with the many trucks in summer tyres all sliding about the highway, I will never forget it. :o(

Sonja, I survived a 42c heatwave outside Albacete with a broken down car and a 1L bottle of (warm) water to keep 4 people including a baby, happy until help arrived.

Seems that town is cursed then as far as it comes to trying to just drive by.... surely no fun either to get stuck there when it is way to warm and you need to call help, but you should have seen the road in the sudden snowstorm and icerain glazing in advent 2009! Sure the other end of not funny.
