Need help sorting out how to use 23? Or have you discovered one of those nasty bugs?

How do allow others to see full size photos?

Perkin-warbeck   April 17, 2011, 04:57 PM

I uploaded some large photos (1200 px x 800 px). I want another user to be able to left-click and see the photo full-size. How can I do this? FYI these are private photos in a Photogroup to which I have invited the other user. The user can see the photos at normal size, but left clicking has no effect. Of course enlarging works just fine for me.

I tried changing Options -> Settings -> "Allow download of your original photos?" = Yes, but this did not have the desired effect.

I think the setting you tried is the correct one. What do you mean it didn't have the desired effect?

Yes, I thought it was the right setting too. When the user left-clicks a a photo, he claims that nothing happens (I told him he would see the full-size image). I suspect that he may not be following my instructions properly, or that it has something to do with the photo being private.

I just sent you an invitation to join the group. Would you be so kind as to try it for me? Thanks!

I think we have discovered a bug. With b4light's help, we found that

Options -> Settings -> "Allow download of your original photos?" = Yes

does not work for private photos. It only works for public photos.

Specifically, a user who has been invited to join a photogroup containing private photos cannot left-click a photo and see an enlarged version. Making the photo public solves the problem. Unfortunately, this is not an acceptable solution if you really want the photos to be private.

Does this happen only for the photo when displayed within the photogroup -- or also when you visit the same photo from the user's own photo archive?

Hi Steffen,
The user does not have his own photo archive. He created a 23hq account in order to view my photos in this group. I believe he navigates there by clicking "My Photogroups" link after logging in. I don't see such a link when I log in.

I just sent you an invitation to join the photogroup so you can see for yourself.

Hey guys,

I've done a small tweak -- can you give it another try and see if things are better now?

Your tweak worked! I tested it by logging in from another account. Thanks for your quick problem solving.
